Ideas for Black-Hat SEO

Smothering your ads in oddly shaped designs which, with a little practice can start to take on a very modern and modular look, not very unlike contemporary European décor. Use even more fashionable ways to disguise your ads, perhaps drawing visitors to them instead of away from them.

The most popular places people click in a forum is the post and reply button. So, that’s where our ads will go. Another prime piece of real estate on a forum site is below the quick reply box. (If you don’t have one in your forum, hurry up and get one). Use a half banner (234x60) for best results.

The naughtiest location for our ads is going to be directly below our members signatures. Again, use a half banner (234x60). The reason putting our ads below members sigs is so powerful is because it is horribly misleading. It suggests to readers that the ads are actually the poster’s website/favorites.

Simply place your ads right beside the scroll bar and set your right margin to “0.” (see above right image). To complete this maneuver, match your website and ads backgrounds to the color of the scroll bar.

Give your visitors only one way to proceed to any other pages on your site. By clicking an ad. Your visitors now only have two choices: click on an ad (live) or on the browser’s close button (die). Every non AdSense link on a page reduces the probability of your ads getting clicked.

Place your ads at the very top of the page. After about a full screen of blank space, toss your content all the way at the bottom.

Fetch yourself some DHTML code. With that, we will produce a special layer that contains the bulk of our content but has it all hidden from view other a teaser paragraph. Just make the layer collapsible (or hidden).

Get translation software and build international sites. Get SYSTRAN desktop software to do translation for you offline.

Below are some of the main sources that mass builders usually “borrow” from: •Search engine results from: Google, MSN, Yahoo, etc. •News sites such as: Yahoo! News, MSN News, etc. •Open Content (Project Gutenberg) •Creative Common License Content

  • RSS Feeds are the best of all.

Run a search on Google for "produced by wusage". Then, browse some of the results. You will see the traffic statistics of those websites. These statistic pages are indexed by search engines. Therefore, if your link is in the “Referring URLs” list, this means you have a back link from that website. Find a bunch of those exposed statistic pages and then visit from your web site to that website. Finally, put a link to those sites on yours and then click it like crazy.

Placing comments and/or links on YouTube will help you to get indexed and ranked better.

Setting up blogs with links to your AdSense sites. Use either RSS to Blog or SEOBlogBuilder to post links to your blog farms overtime.

You could try automation software - Given the ability to add newsfeeds and adsense automatically, making a site map which interlinks pages in a complex way to make it not look automated and adding images randomly with related image tags. Examples include: Blogomatic, RSS Equalizer, WebSpinner, Traffic Equalizer and the HalfAgain softwares (BlogSolution, ContentSolution and RSS Evolution).

Spinning is using advanced software to change the structure and wording of text so that it still makes sense. This means writing one article about your website and then spinning it thousands of times so it reads differently each time. Effectively, giving thousands of unique articles that actually make sense.

You can create networks with other webmasters - White-hat, Grey and Black-hat webmasters.

Empire Building is where a webmaster has many web sites in his portfolio and links them all together giving each site one way links from within his empire.

When using redirects, make sure that you use the 301 protocol. Always redirect your "non-www" domain (example.com) to the www version (www.example.com).

Include a bit of always updated content on your pages (e.g. a timestamp, a random quote, a page counter, or whatever)

Gray-Hat is the WAY to GO (The Balanced Way, albeit less speedy way)

If you own other web sites then strategically place one way links around your empire, remember to vary your hyperlink text and also use different descriptions as much as possible.

  1. Find the target page on your site that you want to start out with - for example: www.domain.com/products.asp?p_id=254
  2. Set up another page (so far blank) on a permanent URL to map to the first one - for example: www.domain.com/shoes.asp - only use this URL for your PPC campaign.
  3. User server side or client side techniques to "drag in" the real target page, to show on the new URL. Server-side this can be done with an include statement. Client side this can be done with a 100% frameset. Very simple and easy.
  4. If you need to change the target URL, for example add a tracking parameter to something like this: www.domain.com/products.asp?p_id=254&camp=adwords you just make the change to the mapping-URL (the address you "drag in" - not the URL you use in your campaign).

Black-hat PPC Marketing

More will be added to this - feel free to give yourself link credit if any of this content was created through your ideas.

Never change your target URL for your Google Ads - This way Google won't see that you actually change the target URL and you get to keep that hard earned CTR.

  1. Cloaking is usually only applied to organic results but work just as well for most editors - you just need to research and update your IP lists. You can start out with the spider IP lists available from vendors like Fantomaster (http://www.fantomaster.com) or IP-Delivery (http://www.ip-delivery.com). Strip it down to C-classes to target broadly. This way you will get some "false positives" that consequently won't see your pop-ups either, but the majority of visitors from outside the editor room will, and everyone is happy.
  2. A more simple technique that sometimes works is to just submit your page including the pop-ups and wait for response. The second they reject it you go and update the listing (without actually changing anything) and as quickly as possible email them back and say it's fixed. If you are lucky the same editor will come back and check. Now, the trick is that most editors don't know anything about cookies ... get the picture?
